National Media Seminar Organised at Amrit Sarovar Retreat Centre
A National Seminar on “Medias role for promoting peace, unity and trust” was organized by the Media wing of Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation and Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidhalaya in Amrit Sarovar, Gulbarga on 15th June 2025. There were 80 registered media persons participated in the conference from the Kalyan Karnataka region. The Seminar began with a welcome note and divine song by Manoj Bhai. B K Ragini Behn, Media wing, Gulbarga gave a welcome speech and welcomed the dignitaries on the dias and august gathering.
Addressing the gathering, Rajyogini B K Vijaya Didi justified the rationale of organizing this seminar on Medias role for promoting peace and unity, as the divine philosophy of Brahma Kumaris is to improve the quality of life of the society and maintain peace with divine principles of the Rajyoga and stressed the media highlight the reality of the incidents without any bias and showcase more on positive things. The seminar got impetus with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the dias.
Rajyogini B K Sarala Didi, Vice Chairman, Media Wing, Hyderabad mentioned that in this world of materialistic life, Peace and harmony are the only solutions to encounter the forces of negativity and asked the delegates to adapt in their livelihood and media life. She gave an example of Atheist Conference held at USA, which was resolved the non-existence of God and they thanked the God and this shows the truth and reality of existence of God ..a Universal power and earmarked to follow the ethical values in Media for better visibility.
Dr Suresh Jange. Head-Coordinator, Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication, Gulbarga University addressing in the conference reiterated that Media are the ambassadors of the country and most powerful entity on earth and they have the power to make the innocent – guilty and the guilty – innocent, and that power is because they control the minds of the masses. Hence, it is the responsibility among the media to ensure to disseminate right information to the right user at the right time in the right place without much exaggeration and thereby ensure positive vibes among the society to promote peace, unity and trust.
He further stated the Universities offer Masters and Doctoral degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, wherein the ethical values of journalism is being taught and the new concept of Peace Journalism (PJ) is getting tremendous popularity all over the world. It provides platform to discuss the role of media in resolving the disputes and establishing peace. The phenomenon of PJ uses conflict analysis and transformation to support the concept of balance, fairness and accuracy in reporting. Concluding his address, he mentioned that Media is a powerful medicine and if the medicine is used properly it can heal many ills and if misused it can become poison. The role of media in promoting communal harmony means information dissemination which combats propaganda for riots, intolerance or racism.
BK Shantanu, National Coordinator, Media wing, Mount Abu urged the Media to focus more on the realistic happenings of the world that yield peace, unity and trust by showcasing the positive vibes of the society and invited them for the forthcoming National conference being held in Mount Abu during Sept. 2025.
